Again, this is up there as one of our favorite Mickey Mondays! I borrowed a hat and a real leather whip, and we set up the table outside with tiki torches around it. We used the hat and whip to decorate the table and added cutlasses and gold Rollos. Dinner was green beans and twice baked bacon & cheddar potatoes for the kids, and sweet potatoes for parents. We roasted our own hot dogs for dinner over the campfire. After dinner, the kids loved going through the cool obstacle course/scavenger hunt in keeping with the Indiana Jones theme. There were separate clues for both Indy and Marion.
The clues led the kids over a snake filled bridge, climbing a rope to get up onto the deck, and reaching their hands into gross things looking for the clues. There were a few other obstacles as well, and soon the kids had a fistful of clues. Finally, the clues led them into the house to a cave with gold coins in it! Our family night dinner was such a success that my son decided he wanted to have an Indiana Jones themed party for his birthday. (Of course, he changed his mind before then, being that it was 4 months away.)
