Mickey Monday: Indiana Jones

IMG_1757Again, this is up there as one of our favorite Mickey Mondays! I borrowed a hat and a real leather whip, and we set up the table outside with tiki torches around it.IMG_1726 IMG_1725 We used the hat and whip to decorate the table and added cutlasses and gold Rollos. IMG_1729 Dinner was green beans and twice baked bacon & cheddar potatoes for the kids, and sweet potatoes for parents. IMG_1732We roasted our own hot dogs for dinner over the campfire. IMG_1721 IMG_1718 After dinner, the kids loved going through the cool obstacle course/scavenger hunt in keeping with the Indiana Jones theme. There were separate clues for both Indy and Marion. IMG_1756

The clues led the kids over a snake filled bridge, IMG_1727climbing a rope to get up onto the deck, IMG_1758and reaching their hands into gross things looking for the clues. IMG_1766 There were a few other obstacles as well, and soon the kids had a fistful of clues. IMG_1760Finally, the clues led them into the house to a cave with gold coins in it! IMG_1769Our family night dinner was such a success that my son decided he wanted to have an Indiana Jones themed party for his birthday. (Of course, he changed his mind before then, being that it was 4 months away.) IMG_1755
